It requires much greater communication and coordination from players, and it has a complicated role system in which each character class has very specific duties on the field, all of which are required for an army to be successful. It's a slower-paced online shooter based heavily around squad tactics, in which death comes quickly from out of nowhere - especially for players who get isolated from the support of their squad. But Hell Let Loose is not your standard, run-of-the-mill online shooter. For a standard, run-of-the-mill online shooter, that might not be a huge problem. There is no tutorial or practice mode of any kind.
Hell Let Loose is one of the most un-welcoming games for new players that I have ever played - at least in the modern era of video games since in-game tutorials became common place in the early 2000's. ( < indicates platform I played for review) XBox Series X | S (via retail disc or XBox Live digital download). PlayStation 5 < (via retail disc or PSN digital download), Un-welcoming to beginners, but rewarding if you stick with it
Overall Impression : B for overall design /
